A Research and Data Scientist

I am the Co-Founder, CEO and Chief Scientist at Libre AI, whose mission is to widely disseminate the benefits of AI and ML and make them accessible to the world. I am passionate about the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to support decision making processes. I also serve as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University College Dublin (UCD).

I was the Chief Data Scientist and VP at Citi’s Innovation Lab in Dublin, Ireland, and before that, I was a Research Staff Member at IBM Research - Ireland.

I hold a PhD (magna cum laude) in Computer Science from the Web Science Lab, L3S Research Center, in the University of Hannover, Germany, a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Central American University (UCA), El Salvador.

My research has advanced the state-of-the-art in personalized ranking and recommender systems and has demonstrated to be valuable for industrial practitioners. I regularly serve as a program committee member for RecSys, UMAP, and HT, and as reviewer for CIKM, WebSci, AAAI, ECML-PKDD, and ACM TWEB. I am also an entrepreneur and have served as IT consultant providing advice to a range of public and private organizations.
